Review – E.L.F Baked Highlighter & Baked Blush

Hi guys!

Today i’m back with E.L.F baked highlighter and baked blush review. This highlighter and blush are not a new product in the market but i want to give my thought about it since i just bought it a few weeks ago and it’s my first time using e.l.f products. To be honest, i’m not a “baked” thing person, and also i’m not a highlighter person myself because of my oily skin type. But with the highlighter trends all over the beauty community, i’m tempted and finally decided to get one for myself. There’s so many different brand for highlighter out there, i’m quite hooked and eyeing for some certain brands for a long time, but considering that i’m not a highlighter person, and there’s possibility that i will not use it again after a few times, i don’t want to gamble and waste my money on high end product. After i go through some research, i decided to buy the e.l.f baked highlighter in moonlight pearls. It’s known to be the dupe for mary lou manizer highlighter from the balms cosmetic, many good reviews about it, and also i decided to pick the baked blush too in rich rose.

It’s quite affordable, i bought it online as always for around 7USD (converted) for the highlighter, and 6.5USD (converted) for the blush. The packaging is simple and compact. So straightforward. The highlighter is beautiful to look at, as the blush, i don’t quite expect the colour to be like that on the pan, but i thought it’s okay, don’t judge the book by its cover.

The first time i’m trying the highlighter and the blush , i really don’t understand, why it’s so bad? There’s so many great reviews about these. Or maybe i got a dud (again) ?? If you’re following my post for a while, you’ll know i got a dud for milani blush (you can read it here . The texture of the blush and the highlighter are both so stiff, not powdery, not creamy, not like anything. I can hardly get the pigmentation out of those two.

It did transferred to my fingers when i rubbed it straight off the pan a few times, but it won’t stick to my skin when i rubbed my fingers to the back of my hand. Even my camera can’t capture the colour, it’s so sheer. With just one swipe straight off the pan, you can hardly see anything.

Above was the colour payoff after i rubbed it a few times with wet fingers. Actually the colour is pretty lovely but the pigmentation is really poor. The blush colour rich rose didn’t match with my face tone, it makes my skin look dull. The highlighter is gorgeous though, but you must swipe your brush well to the pan and layered it two or three times to see the pigmentation on your face. Really not a fan.

It’s so sad that i (maybe) got a dud again. I saw so many great reviews and swatches out there. Maybe i do need to try out some other brand T_T
