Review – IOPE Air Cushion XP SPF50+/PA+++ N23

Hi everyone! I’m back with new review today. It’s IOPE Air Cushion XP in N23!

I didn’t know IOPE brand until last year when i went to Korea. My relative asked me to bought this for her so i went to Lotte duty free to buy this cushion (it was really a big hit last year). I’m curious about this cushion and wanted it too if the colour really matched with me, so i tested N21, N23 (N stands for Neutral), and S22 (shimmer) on my hand and i really got confused. At a glance, N21 and N23 didn’t have big difference, while S22 was too shimmery for me because i already had oily skin. Based on my research on the spot, many of the bloggers said that N21 is too light, and N23 more natural. My relative also asked me to buy the N23 so i decided on N23 too (later i found out that IOPE also have C21, and C23. C means Cover version, better coverage than N or S series. C21 has similar tone to N21 but C23 darker than N23)

It has light creamy texture, almost like watery foundation. It also has slight pleasant smell. The finish on the skin is dewy, but because i already have oily skin, after using this i always finished it with setting powder to ‘erase’ the shine. After 4 to 5 hours i need to blot my face and need a bit retouch. So far i like this cushion, it gave me natural finish on my skin, the colour matched my skin perfectly, though the coverage only low to medium. But you always can build the coverage by layering it. If you’re looking for coverage, go for C series but if you want more natural finish, go for N series.

The packaging is so minimalist with elegant touch. It has shimmer on top of it, gorgeous look! 1 pack consists of 1 cushion + 1 refill.

Sorry for the messy look >.< i use this cushion for about 7 months now (i’m not using it on everyday basis, and i still switch it time to time with other foundation and cushion that i have).

Can you tell the difference? Which side using the cushion, which side is not? :p

The side with IOPE looks more dewy but still in natural finish and the skin looks more healthy than the side without IOPE.

Conclusion :

Name : IOPE Air Cushion XP SPF50+/PA+++ N23

Price : i bought it in lotte mall duty free, USD 28.

Country of origin : Korea

Pro : light weighted, nicely scented (not too much), natural finish, nice elegant and sturdy packaging (not cheap looking).

Cons : nothing. I have nothing to complaint >.< But maybe for those who have oily skin like me have to consider that this cushion is little bit too dewy especially for humid weather. As i said before, need to use setting powder. For me, i rarely doing outdoor activities in my hometown so i still can tolerate the dewy-ness.

Ratings : 5/5

Would i repurchase again : Maybe. *Don’t get me wrong, i love this cushion and i give a good review for it for you who seeks info about it, but blame my impulsiveness, i have too many foundation, bb cream, cc cream, and cushion that i can’t finish it myself if i keep buying the new one. I try to be fair and use all the product that i like, regularly. If i didn’t have so many products, i definitely will repurchase this cushion >.<

      1. No I’ve got the N21, I’ve only used it once so far. I had some trouble applying it. It’s not as easy as it looks in the videos. I need to sit down and practice. It will be one of my later reviews after I’ve had a chance to figure it out. I have sooo many BB Creams and such, I thought I would go back over them and write about what I like and dislike about each of them. It also gives me a chance to try them all out again because I tend to forget what I have and they end up languishing at the back of my drawer. 🙂

      2. You can try gentle patting motion and apply thinly then layer it up as you desired. It works for me 🙂 er.. yes i totally can relate with you. i also have many type of foundation and bb cream and such.. well, not that much but it is indeed too much for me alone.
Btw, you live in korea, right? have you check on VDL newest collection VDL x Pantone? I might die from curiousness >.< The packaging are to die for.. and the colour selection really nice too!

      3. Yeah, I live just outside of Seoul. I was just in the VDL store last week. It just opened in my town a few months ago. I had seen some of the stuff online so thought I wld go and check it out. The Pantone collection is great I am loving the colors but have not bought anything yet, I was also really impressed by their eye shadows they were super pigmented. It’s a bit more pricey, but I guess you are paying for a good quality product so I think it will be worth it.

      4. Maybe we can do a blog swap some time in the future 🙂 I’m doing on with the blog ‘Louiina’ at the moment. It’s lots of fun and we get to try products from different countries.
